Sydney is a competitive boxer and teaches boxing around the world. Most recently, she has taught in Dubai and parts of Europe, which has broadened her embrace of all cultures. Her style of teaching is equally inclusive: Sydney weaves many different styles of fitness into her boxing class, including stretching and yoga, to create a comprehensive workout experience.
Sydney also teaches courses in nutrition and wellness and enjoys creating fun and inspiring music pairings for her classes.
One of the many joys Sydney experienced during the making of OneFirelight: While teaching a boxing class via Zoom, a member of our tech team in Madrid took a break from his work to experience one of her classes.
“Champions aren’t made in the gyms, Champions are made from something they have deep inside them. A desire. A dream. A vision.”

What is your favorite inspirational of motivational quote?
"Champions aren’t made in the gyms, Champions are made from something they have deep inside them. A desire. A dream. A vision." Muhammad Ali
What does nature mean to you? How does it inspire you?
Breath. Allow your breath to expand your body on the inhale and release your body on the exhale. Remind yourself of the intention to leave your body and your soul feeling rejuvenated and cared for. Take in feelings of support and comfort. When you think of what things, people, props, places that make you feel that sense of comfort and support, just let those visualizations bring your body deeper into that space. As you go about your day or night, whenever you need to you can close your eyes and you can bring yourself back to this feeling, reminding yourself that you are supported, you’re safe, you’re comforted.
What’s a favorite treat to lift your spirits?
A Golden Latte is my rainy day treat for body and soul. I make it with fresh ginger, tumeric cinnamon, vanilla sweet drops, almond milk, a ginger tea bag and whipped cream.
What do you do to manage in challenging times?
Rather than wishing it away, I will find the support and foster the skills to move through with grace.
What is your personal philosophy?
There’s so much more to life than getting shit done.
What do you do to find peace?
I have morning routines that include self discovery meditations. I write a morning gratitude journal, and I engage in inner child journaling.
There’s no better time than right now to discover your best self and embrace the world. Our community of instructors and members look forward to welcoming you.
